The He.art Blog
Tests, tutorials and notes from the people who make He.art. A new post about once a week; follow along with the feed.
- How to draw from a reference image in He.art and Heart Photos
Show a model a photo, say what to change, and get a new image back at the photo's own shape and size, the original untouched. Here is where to start, how to use up to four images at once, and how to keep an edit to one part of a photo.
- How to remove a background in Heart Photos and He.art
One press lifts the subject of a photo off its background and files it as a new image with real transparency, the original left as it was. Here is where to find it, what it costs, who can see the result, and how to do a whole gallery at once.
- How to edit an image in Heart Photos, one press at a time
Heart Photos has twelve quick edits beside Remove background, from Rotate to Crop to square. Each makes a new image and leaves the original exactly as it was. Here is where to find them, what each one does, and how to take one back.
- How to search Heart Photos, and what changed today
Type a few words into Heart Photos and every page of the results is now what you asked for. Here is how the search box matches, how tags narrow a search further, and how to share what you found.
- What's new: PDFs in Heart Photos, to read, search, copy and edit
Heart Photos now keeps PDFs beside your photos. Open one to read it page by page, search every word, copy text or an image out of it, and edit it with text, highlights, drawings and page changes, saved as a new PDF so the original stays as it was.
- What's new: Heart Photos on your phone, and video controls like YouTube's
Heart Photos now steps through photos with a tap near the edge, swipes the way the thumbnails run when you turn your phone sideways, and puts a video's controls along the bottom, where they fade away once you start watching.
- What's new: Heart Photos galleries in your docs, and cleaner cut-outs
Paste a Heart Photos gallery link into a He.art doc and the gallery itself appears, ready to browse. Pasted lines of text now become a list, and Remove background keeps or removes the thing behind you whole.
- What's new: Tools, richer Docs, and a calmer Heart Photos viewer
This week He.art gained a Tools page with a private HTML to Text converter, Docs learned to draw review pages with struck and added words, columns and folding sections, and Heart Photos got a few small fixes you will feel every day.
- Fourteen models, three questions: speed and cost in He.art
We put the same three questions to all fourteen models He.art offers, twice each, and timed every answer, counted every token and priced it. All of them got the answers right; speed and cost varied by a factor of almost a hundred.
