Three things shipped on Oct 25, 2026, two in He.art's Docs and one in Heart Photos. Here is what each one does, and where to try it.
Paste a gallery, get the gallery
Until now, pasting a link to a Heart Photos photo into a He.art doc showed the photo itself. Galleries now work the same way. Copy a gallery's address from Heart Photos, paste it into a doc, and in a moment the link becomes the gallery: Heart Photos' own viewer, framed inside your doc, opening on the first photo with the thumbnails along the top and Clickless on, so readers can browse just by moving the pointer over a thumbnail.
If you would rather keep it as a link, that is one click away. Right after you paste, a short note offers Show as link. Later, the frame itself carries a Show as link button while you edit, and pressing the link again offers Show as gallery to bring it back. Each switch is its own step, so Undo puts things back exactly as they were.
Only galleries other people can open are shown this way, meaning public or unlisted ones that are not in the Trash. A private gallery stays a link, and He.art tells you why: share it on Heart Photos first and it can be shown as a gallery. That way nobody reading your doc meets a frame they are not allowed to see.
Pasted lines become a list
When you paste plain text into a doc, lines that come one after another, with no empty line between them, now become list items. It suits the things people paste most: a shopping list, a set of steps, names copied from a spreadsheet column. A line on its own stays a paragraph, anything already written as Markdown (a heading, a quote, a table row) keeps its meaning, and code inside a code block is left alone.
Long runs of empty lines are tidied too: three or more in a row become a single paragraph break. Pasting from a web page, which brings its own formatting, works as it did before.
Remove background keeps the chair whole, or takes it away
In Heart Photos, Remove background lifts the subject of a photo off its background. On a webcam frame of someone sitting in a gaming chair, it used to keep the part of the chair touching the person and drop the rest, so the cut-out came back with a chair sliced along an arm. Now something behind the subject comes out whole: on that frame the chair goes entirely, and only the person is kept.
We checked the change on twelve photos. The chairs, and a face printed on a banner behind someone, now go whole, the foam of a river goes, and the other nine cut-outs came out the same as before. To try it, open any photo you can see on Heart Photos and press Remove background in the Studio part of the sidebar. Each cut-out uses one credit, and the Free plan comes with 50 a month.
One small thing while you are there: on your own galleries, the Official gallery switch now sits before Remove backgrounds in the row of buttons.
Try it
Open He.art, start a new doc and paste the address of one of your public Heart Photos galleries. Then paste a few lines from your notes and watch them turn into a list.
