Hello, and welcome. He.art now has a blog, and this is its first post.
He.art is where we ask questions, write, and make images: a chat that turns into a document you can edit, a choice of AI models from several companies, and a Photo studio that can draw an image from a prompt, edit a photograph, or lift a subject off its background. We use it every day, we keep learning things about it, and until now there was nowhere to share them. This is that place.
What you will find here
Everything on this blog comes from He.art itself: things we tried, measured or built, rather than a roundup of the week's AI news. Expect four kinds of post.
- Side-by-side tests. He.art lets you choose which model answers you, so we can put the same question to all of them and report what came back, how long it took and what it cost. The first of these is the very next post.
- How-tos. Short, practical guides to the things He.art does: editing a photograph in Photo studio, removing a background, drawing from a reference image, and getting the most out of the Heart Photos extension for Chrome.
- Behind the scenes. How our other projects are made, for example how Heartipedia checks each sentence against its sources, or how a viki on Vi.ki comes together.
- Measured notes. When we change something and can put a number on the difference, we will tell you the number.
How we will write
Plainly, and honestly. When we test something we will publish the prompts and the raw results, say what we measured and how, and say where a test falls short. When a model or a feature of our own does badly, you will read that here too. Reference material that should be neutral belongs on Heartipedia; this blog is He.art's own voice, with our tests, our tutorials and our opinions.
The posts are written by the He.art team, and we plan to publish about one a week.
How to follow along
The simplest way is the blog's Atom feed: paste that address into any feed reader and new posts will come to you. Or come back to he.art/blog now and then; the newest post is always at the top.
Try it while you are here
Everything we write about is something you can do yourself. Open He.art, sign in with your Google account, and ask your first question, or open Photo studio and make an image. Then come back next week and see what we found.
Thanks for reading.
